2/7/90: The American Trader (ex: America Sun), owned by Attransco, leaking approx. 400,000 bbls. of Alaskan Crude off the coast of Santa Barbara, Calif. The leak was caused from the ship running over it's own anchor. It was estimated it cost $35 million to clean up this spill.
